Fee

Launch Fee Policy

Reports in Science and Applied Research charges no article processing charge, no submission fee, no page fee, and no publication fee at launch.

What Authors Pay

  • Submission: no charge.
  • Technical check and editorial screening: no charge.
  • Peer review: no charge.
  • Publication after acceptance: no charge.
  • Colour figures, online supplementary files, and normal metadata publication: no charge in the online version.

What Is Not Covered

Authors remain responsible for third-party permissions, language editing if they choose to use it, specialist artwork services, repository fees charged by external repositories, and costs required by their own institution or funder.

Future Changes

If the journal later introduces any fee, the policy must be posted publicly before it applies. Fee changes must not be applied retroactively to manuscripts already submitted under a no-fee policy unless authors explicitly agree.

Editorial Independence

Because the launch model has no APC, acceptance decisions cannot be tied to author payment. Any later fee model should be introduced only after public notice and should include waiver or discount rules if applicable. Editorial decisions should remain based on the standards described for science and applied research.
