About the Journal

Formal Journal Information

International Studies in Science and Technology is a launch-stage open-access journal for international studies in science and technology. It is intended to publish peer-reviewed work in science and technology studies, international collaboration, research systems, and technology policy for readers who need clear methods, traceable evidence, and cautious interpretation. The journal will be operated through OJS and will publish bimonthly issues after launch.

ISSN and eISSN are pending formal registration and will be added after assignment.

Publication Model

  • Publication frequency: bimonthly, with planned issue months in February, April, June, August, October, and December.
  • Access model: immediate open access to all published content.
  • Article processing charges: none at launch.
  • Submission charges: none at launch.
  • Indexing status: no database indexing is claimed at launch.
  • Publisher/platform note: published by Hong Kong Engineering Technology Research Institute and operated through OJS for editorial workflow management.

Editorial Positioning

The journal's subject identity is narrower than a general megajournal and broader than a single-method venue. Its first editorial priority is to attract submissions in comparative studies, bibliometric analyses, policy research, interviews, and historical-institutional work. A manuscript may be interdisciplinary, but it should still give enough disciplinary context for expert review.

Title and Metadata Control

The English title must remain identical across the journal homepage, OJS masthead, PDF article first page, citation metadata, DOI records if later registered, and any ISSN application materials. The Chinese title is an explanatory local-language title and should not replace the English title in international metadata.
